What will you be doing

The Specification Software Tester Architectural Interiors is responsible to support the Architectural Interiors Corporate Team in maintaining developing and improving the Specification Software (Storyboard) as the primary tool used by the internal Project Managers and Specifiers as well as Dealer Project Managers and Specifiers to create accurate and detailed project specification packages at a standard that meets or exceeds Teknions and the clients deadlines and expectations.

The Specification Software Tester works under Specification Software Coordinator guidance interacting with New Product Development Team and Software Programmers and Developers to identify all requirements to support new product introduction to markets and with internal Project Managersand Specifiers to maintain software for existing product collecting documenting and reporting possible software errors suggesting fixes or new functionality testing software updates and updating the software manual.

General Responsibilities:

1. Follow Product Development Process Requirements and Deliverables to meet New Product Launch Schedule.
2. Work with Industrial Design Team to support accurate product specific rules and restrictions identification and implementation within Specification Software (Storyboard).
3. Work with Design Engineering Team to support accurate product design story reflection and product specification within Specification Software (Storyboard).
4. Curate Specification Software for accurate Architectural Interiors Products content representation and best user experience.
5. Maintain Test and Implement Specification Tool (Storyboard) core updates in conjunction with Configura yearly update releases.

Specific Accountabilities:

• Read and interpret product specific drawings including CAD blocks assembly layouts floor plans electrical schematics glass calculations.
• Review Product Structures for new products launches as well as existing products changes and provide input related to product specification suggest possible improvements where feasible.
• Review specific Product Application Guides for new products launches as well as existing product changes understand product applications and specification rules and restrictions.
• Collect all pertaining information related to new product launches and current product changes and raise tickets using management tool such as Zen Hub to communicate with software programers and developers to convey information updates required and followup on status.
• Develop Test Plans and perform various applications testing review specification to ensure product function is properly reflected in the Specification Software.
• Document and report any specification software issues recommend new features test fixes.
• Update Teknion Storyboard Users Briefcase with the formal release notes accompanied by summary of all issues being addressed and fixed.
• Assist internal Project Managers and Specifiers to support Dealers in addressing questions about product application or the specification software.
• Provide product application solutions including specials by conferring with the Special Design Group Design Engineering Industrial Design and all other applicable parties.
• Attend Cross Functions Team Meetings (internal and external with software developers) provide input early in the design process to ensure that the feedback can be incorporated prior to launch and provide updates related to Specification Software tool progress.
• Attend Product Launch related presentations and Technical Reviews.

What skills experience and education are we looking for

• Minimum of a college degree preferably with architectural background or design
• Strong background in CAD with the ability to read interpret architectural and mechanical assembly drawings
• Experience using specification software such as CET Design CAP or Project Matrix
• Experience using rendering software 3D CAD Revit or Sketchup
• Proficient working with Microsoft Office: Word Excel Power Point; Adobe
• Superior organizational skills and strong attention to details
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to work in a time sensitive environment according to strict schedules
• Excellent time management multitasking and prioritization skills
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
