Senior Manager, Software Development (Remote- ATL Based)

Please note that this position is remote but limited to candidates based in the Atlanta area. Occasional inoffice attendance for meetings at our Atlanta location is required.

Job Summary

We are seeking a handson Senior Manager of Software Development who will lead a highperforming engineering team while actively contributing to architecture code reviews and cloud infrastructure (AWS). This role requires 70% technical leadership (cloud architecture PHP/Laravel development DevOps) and 30% people management (mentoring agile processes stakeholder alignment).

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership (70%)

• Architect develop and optimize scalable cloudnative applications on AWS (Lambda EC2 RDS Cloud Functions Queues)
• Lead backend development using Linux shell scripting PHP Laravel python and modern APIs (REST)
• Lead frontend development using React NodeJS
• Drive DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines code scans Kubernetes)
• Ensure system reliability security and cost optimization in cloud environments
• Some handson coding (about 1520% of the time) to guide best practices

Team Management (30%)

• Manage and mentor a team of team leads and/or engineers (backend frontend DevOps QA).
• Collaborate with Product Management to align technical execution with business goals.
• Mentor engineers on AWS best practices secure coding (OWASP) and costaware development.
• Collaborate with security teams to achieve SOC and PCI compliance.
• Optimize Agile/Scrum processes and foster a culture of innovation.
• Own delivery timelines resource allocation and technical roadmaps.

Requirements

• 8 years in Software development including 5 years with AWS or GCP (Solutions Architect/Cloud Leader certifications preferred).
• 3 years in Cloud architecture
• 6 years in one or more database technologies like MySQL Oracle Aurora RDS SQL Server
• 2 years in Engineering management (team leadership performance reviews)
• Expertise in microservices serverless and containerization (Docker/K8s)
• Some DevOps & monitoring tools background (CI/CD monitoring DataDog)

Nice To Have:

• Experience with multicloud strategies (AWS GCP)
• PHP/Laravel programming
• Some knowledge in Python or shell scripting
• Knowledge of one or more industry leading frontend stacks (React/Angular) for fullstack context
• Experience with largescale applications implementing scalability
• Some background inlegacy system refactoring

Salary Range Disclosure

The base range represents the low and high end of the Togetherwork salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to location experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of Togetherworks total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include discretionary bonuses long term incentives a flexible paid vacation/personal time policy 6 weeks paid parental leave and more.

US Remote: $158000 $165000 USD per year
