Job Description

The following position is open: Quality Inspector I
At Custom Microwave Inc. A Vitesse Systems Company we design engineer and manufacture world class antenna solutions for satellite applications. Helping our customers put stuff in space is our specialty and we have a blast doing it. Which is where you come in: We have an opening for an outofthisworld Quality Inspector I.
The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections per all internal and external requirements and to support internal customers in need of inspection support. Are you ready to launch into an impactful and interesting role Were excited to work with you.
What Youll Do (Essential Job Functions):
People
  • Act as a professional leader within the organization
  • Be an effective communicator and leader within the QA department and throughout CMi
  • Develop personal job competency through continuing education
  • Be an apprentice to fellow professionals at CMi
Processes
  • Implementation: follow all released processes related to inspection planning inspection and internal customer support
  • Improvement: suggest improvement of QA Department and CMi processes in support of internal and external customers
Performance
  • Inspection Planning: Plan basic manual CMM and Vision System inspections
  • Inspection: Execute inspection plans for manual CMM and Vision System inspections
  • Internal customer support
    • Support internal customer requests for support related to inspection measurement strategy calibration and other related requests
    • If assigned perform duties of Calibration Coordinator
      • Administer recall and collection of Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE)
      • Arrange for internal or supplier calibration purchase orders
      • Inspect incoming M&TE and associated certification paperwork after calibration for compliance with requirements
      • Apply marking to M&TE per internal requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
What Youll Bring (Additional Knowledge Skills and Abilities):
  • Ability to perform basic hand tool and surface plate inspections.
  • Ability to interpret basic drawings and basic GD&T symbology
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team and independently as needed to support the group effort.
  • Ability to perform basic hand tool calibration procedure desired.
  • Basic reading writing computer skills such as log on data entry and retrieval.
  • High attention to detail.
