Role Description
The Senior Electrical Engineer will play a critical role in designing electrical systems for power generation including solar and wind as well as transmission distribution and storage (TDS) systems. This position demands advanced technical expertise in electrical engineering robust project management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects that meet our clients needs.
Role Accountabilities
- Design & Development: The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead and manage both highlevel and detailed designs for transmission interconnections transmission expansions and generation designs. They will collaborate with Transmission or Distribution Facility Owners and System Administration Organizations to facilitate grid interconnections. Additionally they will produce or oversee the production of detailed designs for electricity generation projects. As a member of an integrated team they will develop and review technical specifications and prepare designs drawings and calculations for grid connections substations and related electrical systems. Ensuring highquality outputs and deliverables including . review and authentication will be a key responsibility.
- Project Management: As a key team member the Senior Electrical Engineer will support project execution ensuring projects are completed on time within budget and to high standards. They will coordinate with crossfunctional teams and mentor junior and intermediate staff. Responsibilities also include preparing project documentation schedules and budgets maintaining customer communications to ensure satisfaction and repeat business and preparing consulting proposals for clients.
- Technical Expertise: The Senior Electrical Engineer will offer technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other stakeholders. They will troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical transmission issues and review and approve project deliverables such as design calculations and reports.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will hold an engineering degree in electrical engineering and possess a . designation with substantial experience in electrical design. Experience with transmission distribution or generation systems particularly wind solar or storage will be advantageous. The candidate should have ten or more years of experience in utility operations planning or design with a strong background in detailed engineering design.
