Job Description

Job Title: Activity Coordinator PartTime

Job Type: PartTime
Reports To: Executive Director
Position Summary:
We are seeking a creative compassionate and organized Activity Coordinator to lead our communitys life enrichment program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about engaging older adults and adults with disabilities and will design and deliver a variety of social recreational educational and cultural programs that support wellness foster friendships and enrich the lives of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan coordinate and implement a monthly calendar of engaging activities and events tailored to the interests and abilities of independent senior residents
  • Foster a warm and inclusive environment that encourages resident participation
  • Organize group outings guest speakers hobby groups fitness and wellness classes cultural events and holiday celebrations
  • Collaborate with residents to gather feedback and incorporate their interests and suggestions into programming
  • Manage the activity department budget and coordinate with vendors volunteers and community partners
  • Plan and coordinate decorating the common areas for major holidays
  • Promote activities through newsletters flyers and inhouse communications
  • Support new residents in becoming engaged in community life
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Additional responsibilities may be required on an asneeded basis.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Recreation Therapy Gerontology Social Work or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in recreational programming or a similar role preferably with older adults
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Enthusiastic positive attitude and a genuine interest in working with seniors
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office email calendar software)
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs and assist with physical setup for events
