Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with strong background in the waterwastewater industry to join our Resilience Water team in the Rochester or Buffalo NY area.
The primary focus of this role will be to provide technical and design consulting services with a focus on electrical power distribution electrical controls lighting and communications to support projects for the Water Division.
Role accountabilities:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will support projects and clients in the planning design and construction of water/wastewater facilities and other similar industrial facilities serving as Arcadis main point of contact with our clients for their electrical needs. Development of project management skills including support in managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment; for project/task scope schedule and budget. Additional responsibilities include:
- Electrical design and coordination of various projects with an emphasis on power distribution lighting communications fire alarm systems and control systems for new water/wastewater and industrial projects.
- Design work will require a proficiency with CAD Programs (Autodesk Products Bentley Products etc.) specifically concerning as mentioned electrical systems for Engineering Design and Construction projects.
- Establishing design criteria performing design calculations developing oneline diagrams control schematics plans and specifications.
- Performing engineering services during construction including reviewing equipment submittals shop drawings and responding to contractor RFIs (request for information).
- Conducting field inspections assisting projects in construction which includes identifying deviations from design and monitoring safety compliance.
- Performing system analysis using ETAP SKM Power Tools or other power systems analysis software.
- Some travel may be required to support project needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electrical Engineering Technology a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Prior demonstrated consulting experience with water/wastewater and industrial facilities a must.
- Experience using AutoCAD MEP (2D and 3D) Revit SKM Power Tools short circuit calculations overcurrent coordination and/or arc flash analysis and photometric study (Visual 3D or Dialux).
- Solid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code requirements.
- Willingness and desire to mentor junior/staff electrical engineers.
- Excellent customer/client service skills.
- Excellent clear and concise verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams effectively to complete projects on time and on budget.

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per salary range for this position is $97600 $146400. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors such as experience education budget internal equity project and location.
