Superintendent POSITION SUMMARY Awaken Christian Academy is committed to being Christcentered biblically based Spiritled ceaselessly praying community serving diversity embracing God glorifying and an excellence striving community that is filled with Gods such each staff member is a part of the ministry by teaching the Bible praying for and with others and carrying out the vision of Awaken Las Vegas. KEY QUALITIES Awaken Christian Academy is a ministry of the church (ALV) it is of utmost priority for the Superintendent to support this ministry and its goals and vision with humility integrity and a heart of service that is evident to everyone with every interaction. The Superintendent provides visionary leadership for enrollment supervision of the division heads schoolwide curriculum development and any development and marketing teams. This position is responsible for all aspects of school administration including regulatory compliance academic programming personnel management educational operations and organizational development. Through these roles the Superintendent ensures that all objective targets are achieved and accomplished. The Superintendent will lead with a servants heart and serve as a spiritual role model for the school and community. The Superintendent must be a bornagain believer who professes their faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and whose faith is evidenced in character and service. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES GENERAL - Provide leadership for all areas of the school including spiritual academic relational programs effective resource development etc.
- Works with admin team in directing all academic program planning including development and selection of curriculum.
- Directs recruitment hiring and management of all staff both academic and support staff. Ensures adequate staffing and supervision of all personnel including proper assignment of duties and staff development to accomplish school objectives.
- Encourage all employees as they pursue growth in their Christian faith.
- Works with Principals to conduct regular teacher and staff evaluations.
- Actively direct and participate in the recruitment and enrollment of students.
- Ensures proper school accreditation.
- Ensures compliance with Federal state and local statutes and regulations includingteacher certification student graduation requirements and program requirements.
- Directs development and school operations. Ensures student and faculty activities are consistent with the church and school mission values and objectives. Ensure that communication with all school constituencies is adequate. Oversees student development and discipline. Coordinates development of the annual school calendar in addition to all annual publications (e.g. school handbook and report).
- Assists in drafting school advisory board policy and ensures its implementation.
- Participates in long range planning and school development activities. Recommend priorities develop annual work plans executes assignments recommends appropriate techniques and methodology and suggests operational approaches to the advisory board and staff.
- Works with Church and School Advisory Board to ensure that school facilities services and resources are adequate.
- Ensures proper execution of the budget as directed by the Board.
- Support the maintenance of alumni relations through regular contacts and events.
- Continue to support a schoolwide culture that will make all constituents. buy into the mission vision and core values of the church and school.
- Support fundraising efforts for the school within the community.
- Develop and maintain a vigorous grant program.
- Market and advocate for the school within the community.
- Respond to school challenges and adversity with faith.
- Encourage and counsel employees and families to help them make godly decisions that are consistent with scripture.
- Fulfills other duties as assigned by the Senior and Executive Pastors.
Administrative - Create and nurture a strong faculty and staff team with equitable workloads ensuring the group is prepared to lead the institution.
- Coordinate monthly faculty meetings and weekly staff devotions.
- Ensure smooth daytoday operations.
- Coordinate special days programs and awards.
- Work with the Academic Advisor to prepare the academic calendar.
- Work with Chapel Committee to establish and coordinate the chapel program and schedule.
- Work with Registrars to coordinate enrollment including student screening and family interviews.
- Work with Principals to supervise and evaluate faculty and staff performance and address any issues promptly.
- Ensures and maintains proper school accreditation and legal compliance.
- Ensures student and faculty activities are consistent with the church and school mission values and objectives.
- Assists in drafting school advisory board policy and ensures its implementation.

Personnel - Working and coordinating with Human Resources to maintain recruitment hiring and management of all staff both academic and support staff. Ensures adequate staffing and supervision of all personnel including proper assignment of duties and staff development to accomplish school objectives.
- Oversee faculty supervision evaluation and training.
- Works with the Principal to determine standards for performance and growth.
- Set fair expectations equitable compensation working conditions and training.
- Dismiss those who fail to meet the schools standards.
- Develop practices and procedures that promote harmonious and constructive relationships.
- Encourage all employees to pursue growth in their Christian faith.
School Environment and Financial - Ensure and provide for the safety and wellbeing of all students.
- Respond to school challenges and adversity with faith.
- Administer rules governing the student body.
- Coordinate the operation and maintenance of school facilities.
- Encourage and counsel employees and families to help them make godly decisions that are consistent with scripture.
- Coordinate the financial plan and annual budget with the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
- Recommend tuition rates and fees to the Board of Directors.
- Manage a costeffective system of purchasing and expense management to remain within best practices mitigate accounting confusion and errors.
Enrollment and Recruitment - Work with the Registrar to establish enrollment procedures.
- Promote the school in effective and costefficient ways.
- Develop and maintain a growth strategy that allows the school to be more effective in its mission.
- Establish standards and procedures for student admissions and withdrawals.
Fundraising and Marketing - Encourage meaningful events that aid and support the goals of the school.
- Propose realistic fundraising goals.
- Work with admin team to coordinate all fundraising events and activities.
- Build positive relations with local businesses community organizations and key partners.
- Support the maintenance of alumni relations through regular contacts and events.
School Image - Function as the spokesperson for the school.
- Explain the school and the schools mission to the public.
- Bring to life the image of the school and its mission.
Other - Participates in long range planning and school development activities.
- Develops annual work plans executes assignments recommend priorities appropriate techniques methodology and suggests operational approaches to the advisory board and staff.
- Develop a growth strategy that will allow the school to be more effective.
- Specific assignments may vary over time.

MINISTERIAL - Attend weekly services at Awaken Las Vegas and maintain a strong presence in the body. Has strong demonstrated faith and relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Agrees with ALVs Statement of Faith and philosophy of Christian Education.
- Seek Gods wisdom on a daily basis answer questions in alignment with the Bible.
- Clearly present the Gospel the good news of salvation whenever the occasion arises.
- Lead initiate and participate in prayer with students coworkers and families as needed.
- Encourage teachers to be aware of and intervene in the spiritual needs of their students
- Be aware of and provide opportunities for parents to develop Biblically based childrearing skills.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Experience and Education - Five years experience in educational setting as teacher or administrator including at least two years of supervisory or administrative experience.
- Prior experience with the accreditation process preferred.
- Prior experience acquiring grants preferred.
- Boardrecognized course work in Christian Education preferred.
CERTIFICATION/ LICENSURE - Masters degree in Elementary Secondary or Special Education or School Administration Certificate.
- Must be ACSI certified as a Head of School within one year of hire date
- Must be CPR/First Aid/AED certified within 90 days of hire
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS / ABILITIES (KSAs) - Ability to communicate orally and in writing with teachers students and parents.
- Organizational and leadership skills.
- Experience in administrative and educational positions.
- Experience in the use of standard business practices and procedures.
- Ability to make difficult decisions using good sound biblical judgment.
- Ability to coordinate activity to implement decisions and accomplish goals.
