Job Description

Project Coordinator Academic Affairs

Overview:

The Project Coordinator Academic Affairs plays a vital role in supporting the strategic and operational objectives of the Center for Teaching Learning & Innovation and Office of Academic Affairs. This position serves as a key liaison between academic departments administrative offices and external partners to ensure the smooth execution of academic initiatives compliance efforts and institutional priorities. The coordinator is responsible for managing timelines tracking progress on deliverables facilitating communication across units and ensuring followthrough on action items and decisions made by academic leadership.

With a strong focus on collaboration organization and attention to detail the Project Coordinator will assist in the development documentation and implementation of academic policies programs curriculum development and special projects that impact teaching learning and student success. This role requires a proactive and resourceful individual who can anticipate needs streamline processes and support highlevel projects related to accreditation academic planning faculty affairs and student engagement. The coordinator also contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by collecting data generating reports and assisting in assessment and evaluation efforts across the academic division.

A significant component of this role includes supporting the Morris Brown College Center for Teaching Learning and Innovation (CTLI) which serves as a hub for instructional excellence economic empowerment community engagement and sustainability initiatives. The coordinator will provide operational and project support to CTLI initiatives in alignment with the Colleges mission strategic plan accreditation requirements and best practices in higher education.

General Duties:

The Academic Affairs Project Coordinator performs a broad range of administrative project management and coordination duties to support the effective functioning of the academic division and CTLI. This role requires a high level of organization communication and discretion as it involves coordinating multiple initiatives supporting institutional planning and compliance and serving as a central point of contact for academic projects. The coordinator ensures timely execution of tasks; monitors progress on strategic priorities and fosters collaboration across academic and administrative units to support institutional goals and student success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and track academic projects initiatives and deadlines assigned by the Academic Affairs leadership team.
  • Provide administrative and operational support for academic committees meetings and initiatives.
  • Prepare reports meeting agendas minutes presentations and other documentation related to academic planning CTLI initiatives and assessment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of academic policies and procedures.
  • Maintain project management tools databases and shared folders to ensure accurate and uptodate information.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between Academic Affairs and other departments (e.g. Registrar Institutional Effectiveness Student Affairs).
  • Support accreditation compliance and assessment efforts by gathering and organizing data documents and reports.
  • Assist in organizing professional development workshops and academic events for faculty and staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and exercise discretion in handling matters related to personnel curriculum and academic policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Academic Affairs division.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in education business administration or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of administrative project coordination or higher education experience.
  • Excellent organizational time management and problemsolving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Google Workspace and project management tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in higher education public administration or related field.
  • Experience working in academic affairs or related administrative units in a college or university setting.
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards and academic assessment processes.

This is a grantfunded position.
