The Department of Athletics will support the university mission by developing and maintaining a topquality Division II intercollegiate athletics program that is committed to providing a positive and fulfilling academic and athletic experience for all studentathletes. As a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and the NCAA Division II CSU Pueblo Athletics plays a supporting role in the higher education mission while enhancing a sense of community strengthening our identity and playing a prominent role in enrollment management for the University.Description of Job
This fulltime yearround administrative professional position provides an Assistant Mens and Womens Track and Field Coach in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. This position will provide support in the overall organization and management of the track and field program under the direction of the Head Cross Country and Track and Field Coach. The position will assist with cross country as needed. In accordance with the vision of the Department of Athletics this position is specifically responsible for all sprints hurdles jumps relays and multievents (decathlon/heptathlon) including coaching practices and workouts recruiting scheduling coordinating travel planning and monitoring the cross country/track and field budget monitoring athlete academics maintaining solid roster numbers organizing and managing yearround camps and clinics hosting home track and field meets monitoring RMAC and NCAA compliance promoting cross country/track and field to the community alumni and fans and developing fundraising opportunities for the program. Other duties may be assigned by the Head Coach and/or Vice President for Athletics and Strategic Partnerships.
Primary Duties- Under the direction of the head coach coach studentathletes specifically the sprints hurdles jumps relays and multievents (decathlon and heptathlon) including assisting in all team practices and scheduled competitions; develops meet preparation and strategy; and trains and conditions studentathletes (including skill demonstration) in order to develop skill character and teamwork in track and field.
- Assist the head coach in the management of the track and field program by planning and coordinating all practices workouts and competitions; ensuring all University conference and NCAA rules and regulations are followed including studentathlete eligibility recruiting financial aid scheduling and academic progress; assists with team travel; manage the programs operating budget through procurement requests and travel reimbursements. Assist with cross country as needed.
- Recruit qualified prospective studentathletes in coordination with the strategic vision of the head coach.
- Monitor team academics including studentathlete welfare and encourage academic excellence.
- Help organize and conduct team camps; aid in the development of fundraising opportunities; serve on committees that promote the success of the program and athletics; establish and maintain community contacts and enhance the success of the program.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited 4year institution
- Willing and able to work nights and weekends as needed to fulfill position duties
- Physical ability to fulfill duties of the position including skill demonstration
- At least 2 years of experience at the collegiate level in track and field as a studentathlete or coaching experience at the high school or higher level
- Experience in position(s) or activities which required skills in:

Problem solving
Preferred Qualifications- Masters degree from an accredited 4year institution
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to motivate teach and counsel studentathletes from a wide range of backgrounds similar
to that of Colorado State University Pueblo - Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
- Strong management interpersonal and organizational skills
- Experience coaching at the collegiate level in track and field specifically sprints hurdles jumps relays and multievents
- Experience as a collegiate assistant coach
- Experience recruiting NCAA qualified studentathletes
- Experience managing multiple tasks
