Program of Record Development Limited Production and Sustainment contract for TIGS (Tactical Integrated Ground Suite) including mobile SATCOM kits training assets and software development environment (SDE). TIGS is deployed at 1 OCONUS location and 2 CONUS location.
Job Summary
Technical Advisor Systems Engineering Performs a variety of engineering work in the development of an operable system capable of meeting requirements within imposed constraints including mass cost and schedule. Designs and/or research subsystem interfaces to ensure that subsystems are integrated and work together to form a viable complete system. Performs functional analysis of a system to ensure it meets performance criteria and mission constraints and to feed the analysis results back to the subsystem development teams. Formulates recommends and directs operations and procedures to resolve engineering and/or technical problems regarding operations staffing and equipment utilization on a specific project or projects. Provides technical assistance and instruction relative to design problems and the resolution of construction or operating difficulties. Conducts special studies and investigations related to project activities and recommends changes as appropriate to enhance efficiency reduce costs and meet changed or new requirements. Analyzes project requirements and provides information and instruction for operating maintaining troubleshooting repairing designing and modifying equipment as appropriate. Plans and coordinates the work of other engineers and technical personnel with completed assignments subject to minimum review of overall results. Trains directs and assists the efforts of other personnel as required to fulfill the objectives of the assignment. Serves as organizational consultant; leads multidiscipline or crossfunctional team(s). May supervise lowerlevel engineers. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Roles and Responsibilities
Provides a tailored SE approach to maintain consistency and minimize impacts to operations for all site projects and mission equipment at all stages of development. Assists staff in tailoring SE approaches to provide sufficient flexibility while precluding overly prescriptive nonvalueadded oversight documentation and monitoring.
Develops tailored SEMPs based on the complexity risk and maturity of individual tasks or projects. Applies SE processes to effectively maintain system configuration mitigate risks and ensure requirements are met for the success of the government customer.
Sr Duties include monitoring Government staff and Stakeholder mission needs documenting requirements and assisting with development of plans to meet those needs including SW support to integrate new equipment sensors or conduct offnominal operations. This system engineer takes a holistic approach to developing solutions working with Engineering Operations and Maintenance staff to identify integrated HW/SW solutions that meet the Governments needs. Assists with identifying and mitigating risk resolving issues and ensuring user/customer satisfaction.
Additional responsibilities include mentoring less experienced staff and assisting the Government in identifying solutions to improve quality of services provided. This SE is a disciplined selfstarter with strong organizational time management comprehension and communication skills.
Collaborates with technical and programmatic experts to tailor SEMPs to the needs of the mission and provide SE guidance for site activities and projects. Flows down program SEMP processes to create Task Order and projectlevel SEMPs. Assists government staff in documenting requirements ensuring requirements are complete dependencies/interfaces are identified and configuration changes are documented.
Maintains and updates the Sites Integrated Support Plan (ISP) in coordination with the Experimental Equipment Maintenance Manager. Assists in managing obsolescence endoflife and refurbishment requirements for all the
mission equipment. Supports system trade studies to fine tune requirements or select the best option among many choices. Coordinates with the Government to select the appropriate critical factors and weights.
Maintains and updates the Sites Configuration Management Plan (CMP) including configuration control process SW HW Documentation and Digital Engineering and MBSE models.
Assists Government staff in developing requirements documenting those requirements and supporting verification and validation at all stages of system development. Assists with coordinating SE processes across various projects resource scheduling and optimizing use of Government resources to accomplish the mission.
Supports Government and contractor Engineering Boards and Working Groups.
Assists team members in using Digital Engineering and MBSE to perform trade studies and assess expected system performance. Develops Cameo MBSE models of critical site systems and supports development of a sitewide MBSE model.
Interfaces with KBR Government staff and OEMs to identify technical specifications and document those in their respective baseline configuration.
Assists Program/Project Managers and staff with tailoring and implementation of appropriate SE processes
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering or other Engineering Discipline with applicable SE experience
Minimum of 10 years experience in providing SE support to complex projects spanning multiple Engineering disciplines.
Clearance: Active Secret desired eligibility for Secret/TS/SCI required
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in Systems Engineering or other Engineering Discipline with applicable SE experience
Familiarity with the standard Vmodel representation of a systems development lifecycle. Familiarity with MBSE processes and procedures
Sr Deep knowledge of SE processes and ability to independently develop tailored systems engineering plans.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and Project.
Experience with developing and maintaining SEMPs CMPs ISPs TRRs.
Sr/Mid Experience with the creation of work breakdown structures requirements development and tracking and risk management.
Experience creating and working with Cameo System Models or other MBSE SW
Proficiency with Digital Engineering and/or ModelBased Systems Engineering
Salary Range: $140000 $170000
