Grade level to be determined by staffing placements within the department.
School Year 8/18/256/15/26; Summer training/development may be required depending on placement.
REPORTS TO:
Building Administration
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Teach Middle Level Math multiple grades and multiple sections.
Administers and develops subject specific assessments for the purpose of assessing student competency levels and/or developing individual learning plans.
Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations; students achievements; developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment.
Assesses student progress towards learning targets objectives expectations and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students parents and administration.
Develops interventions for students not making adequate progress towards grade level standards.
Collaborates with instructional staff other school personnel parents and a variety of community resources for the purpose of improving the overall quality of student outcomes achieving established classroom objectives in support of the school improvement plan. Counsels students for the purpose of improving performance health status appropriate behavior problem solving techniques and a variety of personal issues.
Demonstrates and differentiates methods required to perform classroom and/or subject specific assignments for the purpose of providing an effective program that addresses individual student requirements.
Coplans and coinstructs with the special education teacher if applicable.
Instructs students for the purpose of improving their success in academics through a defined course of study.
Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
Monitors students in a variety of educational environments (e.g. classroom cafeteria playground school grounds hallways restrooms field trips etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
Participates in a variety of duties such as supervisory duties participation on school committees meetings and professional development activities for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and to improve student achievement.
Prepares a variety of written materials (e.g. grades lesson plans following scope and sequence correspondence with parents and students examinations and quizzes attendance anecdotal records etc.) for the purpose of documenting student progress and meeting mandated requirements.
Reports incidents for the purpose of maintaining personal safety of students providing a positive learning environment and adhering to state law and board policies.
Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources (e.g. other teachers parents administrators students central office staff etc.) for the purpose of resolving issues providing information and/or direction.
Supports other classroom teachers for the purpose of assisting them in the implementation of established curriculum and/or individual student plans.
Other duties as assigned.
CERTIFICATIONS:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Math Education.
Cultural knowledge and ability to develop crosscultural competencies.
Spanish speaking skills are preferred.
Wyoming Teacher Certification with Math 58 OR 612 Endorsement required. (Applicants must have or be able to obtain a teaching certificate issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board ()
The School District places employees on salary schedules on the basis of:
Wyoming experience.
Outofstate experience up to 7 years.
Degree Bachelors Masters or Doctorate.
Semester Graduate Credits beyond Degree.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person may need to lift arms to write on chalk or marking board and occasionally stoop kneel crouch and reach 0 24 inches and up to 36 inches above the head. The employee is directly responsible for the safety wellbeing and work output of other people. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed materialthe ability to adjust focus and exposure to screen(s) via technology. Hearing ability to monitor activity and presence of students and respond to communication with students and adults is required. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is normally low to moderate but may become loud when large groups are together in a room. The employee may be required to move from room to room to provide instruction and may have to maneuver in crowded hallways. Duties are typically performed indoors and occasionally outdoors such as playground duty or when students are boarding or unloading buses. The employee may be exposed to unpredictable weather conditions. This position is typically performed in a hazard free clean and healthy environment.
