Our work environment is fastpaced and team oriented. AlphaGraphics currently has an opening for a fulltime Bindery Operator.
Our Bindery Operator is primarily responsible for operating various machines and equipment to finish products that have been printed so they can be delivered. More than anything were looking for a highly collaborative and dependable teammate that is driven by the opportunity to contribute to the success of a local business. We are a growing passionate and fastpaced team that is fully invested in the success of our company and we value contributions from each team member.
What We Expect of You:
- Read work orders to determine setup specifications and instructions.
- Setup automatic cutting programs manually into cutter machine.
- Examine folded stitched collated bound and unbound product samples for defects such as imperfect folding bindings toner streaks torn or loose pages.
- Start assorted bindery machines and make trial runs to verify accuracy of machine setups before running jobs. Trouble shoot machine problems as it pertains to equipment and set up.
- Set up and operate machines that perform operations such as cutting folding scoring/creasing padding drilling hand punch for coil binding laminating perfect binding saddle stitching booklet making etc.
- Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine whether adjustments are needed.
- Install and adjust bindery machine devices such as knives guides rollers etc. to accommodate sheets signatures or books of specified sizes.
- Maintain records of daily production using computer and specified forms.
- Lubricate and clean machine parts and make minor repairs to keep machines in working condition.
- Performs other related duties as required.
What You Bring to the Table:
- 2 5 years of experience setting up and operating bindery and finishing equipment in medium to large print shops with high job count and tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Reliable attendance punctuality and attention to workstations.

Compensation: $21.00 $25.00 per hour
