8 News Now the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas Nevada is seeking a dynamic energetic and experienced Host / Multi Media Journalist for our daily live lifestyle show Las Vegas Now. Las Vegas Now is a live talk show that combines paid segments along with entertainment community and lifestyle segments. The live show airs Monday through Friday 3P to 4P every week. The ideal Host will produce and conduct live and taped paid and nonpaid interviews segments and packages go live in the field participate in product demonstrations produce segments in the studio and in the field. This is a parttime position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists with daily show preparation and content generation.
- Ability to conduct live and taped interviews in studio and in the field
- Assist the Executive Producer and Producer with booking guests writing teases and other duties as assigned
- Able to shoot write and edit paid and nonpaid stories
- Participates in preshow and postshow meetings.
- Contributes content to the website and all digital platforms.
- Interact with viewers on social media.
- Produce sales segments (live and pretaped) in rundown
- Create and order graphics for paid/nonpaid segments
- Select or provide broll for interviews
- Produce additional elements and lower thirds for segments
- Call and schedule sales clients for in studio interviews and shoots
- Meet with account executives regularly
- Assist with producing segments for fellow host
- All other duties as directed by management.
Requirements & Skills:
- College degree in Broadcast Journalism Marketing or Communication preferred.
- Minimum two years experience as a Host Reporter or Anchor.
- Strong interviewing and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to write and produce pkgs.
- Ability to prescreen guests and clients before interviews and segments
- Required to post digital/social media content.
- Must be willing and able to work evenings weekends and holidays as needed.
- Help foster a team environment with crew members
- All other duties as directed by management
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
The LVN Host/MMJ must be able to sit conduct telephone conversations use electronic mail write letters and memos conduct facetoface discussions with individuals or groups make decisions without supervision and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. In addition the LVN Host/MMJ must be able to handle control or feel objects tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
