Enbridge is actively seeking a System Planning Engineer. This role will be responsible to oversee the hydraulic design for pipeline metering and regulation facilities for expansion and maintenance capital projects to ensure compliance with Company standards and specifications industry standards and managed to the project budget and schedule. Support and maintain pipeline capacities for pipeline systems. Liaise with other Enbridge functional groups within Major Projects Operations including Gas Control and Business Development to ensure project and company requirements are achieved and incorporated into the design deliverables. Maintain and update existing pipeline models for the purposes of determining pipeline capacity.

What You Will Do:

• Define the scope for pipeline compressors metering and regulation facilities and performs screening studies for evaluation of projects.

• Review vendor materials and performance quotations prepares technical evaluations and recommends to the supervisor selections based on technical merit. For example pipe compressor packages and meters and regulation equipment.

• Review lessons learned from past projects and incorporates recommendations into future designs.

• Manage pipeline models by studying the pipeline efficiencies working with operations to reflect operating realities and collecting recent contract information for use in pipeline models for capacity determination.

Required:

• Engineering degree

• Minimum of 4 years of experience related to pipeline hydraulics/design and natural gas industry

Preferred:

• Professional Engineering designation (required in Canada; preferred in the US)

• Capable of working independently managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks accordingly

• Ability to resolve complex issues based on depth and breadth of technical and business knowledge

• Awareness of interrelationships with other stakeholders both internal and external to the project team

• Effectively communicate technical issues and impacts to other technical and nontechnical staff

• Knowledge of the GTM assets

Working Conditions:

• 95% of work is office based working with multiple project teams

• 5% of time is in the field scoping projects meeting with potential shippers or supporting construction and commissioning activities

• Time sensitive deliverables

• Work requires strong computer skills typically using Microsoft Office applications and hydraulic modeling software packages such as NextGen WinFlow WinTran PipeSim ProMax

• Company paid international relocation is not offered for this role.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Balancing bending and stooping climbing crawling carrying (up to 25 pounds) grasping kneeling lifting (objects up to 25 pounds) pulling hand over hand pushing reaching above shoulder repetitive motion sitting standing walking visual requirement (able to see screens detect color coding read fine print) hearing requirement.
