Compensation: $240/daily
Responsibilities:
This Charlotte Lab School high school summer teacher position will have the following responsibilities in support of Labs vision:
- Report to Summer Program Director
- Support the implementation of a literacy curriculum designed for students who are rising 2nd4th graders
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
- Adapt curriculum to meet the needs of the students and classroom
- Conduct progress monitoring and final reading assessment on each participant
- Provide feedback to students regarding their academic performance
- Provide supervision and direction to tutors and/or teaching assistants
- Assist and administer Read to Achieve assessment for rising 4th grade students at the end of the program
Candidate MUST:
- Teachers of Rising 4th grade must be a certified teacher in the state of North Carolina;
- Teachers of Rising 2nd or 3rd grade must have a Bachelors degree and relevant teaching experience;
- Have experience with reading intervention intervention planning progress monitoring and diagnosis of reading needs required
- Show clear commitment to belief in and alignment with the Lab vision mission and values;
- Be able/willing to learn how to fulfill the responsibilities listed above;
- Hold an appropriate degree from a relevant institution;
- Demonstrate experience in and passion for working with diverse populations;
