Fort McMurray Composite High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our instructional team in the role of Cosmetology/Fashion/Music.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Requirements:
- Bachelor of Education
- Red Seal Certification in Cosmetology/Hairstyling
- Demonstrated ability to teach music across a range of skill levels with additional expertise in audio recording music technology and basic instrument repair and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of fashion and design studies including curriculum delivery in areas such as garment construction textile design and fashion history.
- Proficiency in sewing and handson instruction with experience in maintaining and troubleshooting sewing machines and related equipment.
- Versatile teaching skills with a crossdisciplinary approach capable of supporting both performing arts and practical arts programs within a dynamic school environment.
- Experience teaching in a senior high school setting and junior high setting
- Knowledge and familiarity with Assessment for Learning Literacy and Differentiated Instruction practices.
- Effective organizational and classroom management skills are imperative.
- Ability to integrate and use technology in a regular and virtual classroom.
- Ability to create goals for Individual Program Plans as well as implement the plan for students.
- A strong ability to build relationships with high school students staff and parents.
- Strong technology skills are required with knowledge of Google Platform applications and PowerSchool an asset.
- Flexible TEAM player.
- Knowledge of the Collaborative Response Model is an asset.

All candidates must hold an Alberta Teaching Certificate have knowledge of curriculum and teaching experience at those levels/subject areas and demonstrated interpersonal and classroom management skills
