Job Description
Gallery Caf at the Art Gallery of NSW is a hub for the diverse community of AGNSW a cafe for its visitors members and the staff of the art gallery. It is a place to meet eat talk plan rest and recharge.
We are now recruiting for Cafe Chef/ CDP to join the team. Our cafe is open 7 days a week from 10am5pm and Wednesday from 10am to 9pm.
About the role
- Based at the Art Gallery NSW near train and busses
- Work closely with the Sous and Head Chefs to ensure efficient food production and quality control
- Run your own section in a high quality cafe environment
- Innovative cafe style menu changing to meet AGNSW exhibitions
- Ensure the highest standards of presentation and quality
- Train and supervisor junior kitchen staff
- Changing menu to match Museum exhibitions
- Work 5 out of 7 days on a rotating roster weekend work is essential
- Annual salary at $73000 plus super
About you
- Qualifications in Cert III Commercial Cookery
- Experience in fastpaced cafe or events environment
- Excellent communication skills
- A passion for cooking and be open to learning new skills in the kitchen
- Valid working rights in Australia with the ability to work fulltime hours
