Job Description

IEP Coordinator for the Brunswick School Department

Brunswicks Special Education Department is excited to advertise for the position of IEP Coordinator. We are seeking a dynamic flexible highly organized individual to provide appropriate oversight and administration of the Departments IEP meeting requirements and to support the Departments adherence to all timelines and requirements of special education laws and regulations. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills a high degree of selfmotivation an independent work ethic an ability to build positive relationships with families excellent organizational skills and a willingness to collaborate with special educators regular educators service providers and administrators as appropriate.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide effective administration of the Departments IEP meeting processes;
  • Review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for identified students to assure that each IEP is complete wellwritten and in compliance with state and federal regulations;
  • Provide feedback and training to special education case managers in regards to paperwork compliance;
  • Create and review documentation associated with IEP meetings and ensure alignment with Department procedures and federal and state regulations;
  • Ensure case manager compliance with all special education timelines as required in the Child Find evaluation and IEP processes;
  • Attend and serve as the departments administrator authorized to commit Department funds at all initial eligibility annual and reevaluation IEP meetings and other IEP meetings as determined by the Special Education Director
  • This positionis located at the centraloffice with in district travelrequired

Qualifications:

  • 35 years experience as Teacher of Students With Disabilities
  • State of Maine 282 certification
  • Valid Maine Criminal History Records Check
