About this Role:
As aD2LSolutions Engineer youll spend every day helping those around you get the most out of D2L products and services. Working alongside the Corporate Sales team youll help D2L prospects and clients bylearning about their unique needs and proposingD2L products and services as the solution to meet those needs. Your passion for teaching and learning makes people want toopen upto you and your expertise in learning technology and how to accomplish nearly anything using the D2L platform makes you a trusted advisor. Youre excited to speak to everyone from corporate learners and instructional designers to a CIO or CEO and your demos and presentations provoke gasps of amazement if not outright applause.
How Youll Make an Impact:
- Become a handson expert in the Brightspace platform. You wont just need theoretical knowledge of how things work but you will be expected to try things out and make sure they work in practice. You will need to get creative and sometimes approach and reapproach a solution until you find the right fit.
- Support the sales process by becoming an expert in D2L products and services including functionality usage architecture and deployment.
- Prepare and present persuasive and expertly tailored product demonstrations before a wide variety of audiences and under challenging circumstances. Audiences could be new or seasoned users executives at a conference table or HR and L&D professionals piled into stadium seating. Needs could be vague or extremely unique and timelines to prepare can vary.
- Build compelling valueoriented presentations while partnering with your sales team to prep for such presentations.
- Conduct needs analysis sessions with prospects to understand their infrastructure needs and potentialcustomizationsthey may require.
- Provide feedback to product management teams regarding use cases and trends in the field.
- Create technical documentation and materials as for your prospects.
- Be the conduit through which internal SMEs are contacted and engaged into sales opportunities.
- Engaging in proposal writing review client requirementsidentify optimal product mix address gaps and assessing competitive alignment and culminating in the creation of clear concise responses.
- Travel 2550% of the time to attend sales presentations meetings and conferences as required and work various hours across North America from PST to EST.
What Youll Bring to the Role:
- 35 years experience in presales solutions engineering or a related role such as teaching training instructional design or sales consulting
- Technical understanding of enterprise software web and database technology
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex business challenges and apply creativity and problemsolving to meet client needs
- A deep interest in education and educational technology as well as comfort with learning management systems (LMS) and other learning platforms that might integrate with the LMS
- Polished presentation skills and comfortable with presenting complex education and technology concepts to a variety of stakeholders
- Highly engaging in person and virtually
- Excellent writing and comprehension skills prior experience responding to RFPs is an asset
- Experience meeting multiple objectives in an entrepreneurial and remote environment with minimal supervision
- Fluent in French is a strong asset
- Ability to travel 2550% and be willing to work various hours across North America from PST to EST
