The Commissioned School Security Officer (CSSO) ensures a safe secure and supportive learning environment. Working under the guidance of the schools leadership and the Arkansas State Police (ASP) the CSSO is an armed and trained professional responsible for monitoring campus security responding to incidents and fostering a safety culture. This position is authorized under Act 393 of 2015 and follows Arkansas State Police (ASP) licensing standards for Commissioned School Security Officers. CSSOs complement school resource officers (SROs) where SROs may not be available fulltime or districtwide.

This description outlines the positions primary duties; however CSSOs may be required to perform other jobrelated tasks as directed by a supervisor to ensure smooth school operations.
Qualifications :
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
License: Valid Commissioned School Security Officer (CSSO) license issued by the Arkansas State Police required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in law enforcement military or school security.
Additional Information :
School Resource Officer wages will be based on individual experience and within the SY 202526 Salary Schedule.
