Position Summary

The Digital Project Management Office (PMO) team plans and implements key strategic Digital programs and projects to deliver outcomes benefiting UHN and the health system. We apply best practices for managing projects change and risk to ensure high quality deliverables effective coordination of resources and transparent progress reporting. Members of the PMO work in close partnership with a broad range of stakeholders bringing the right teams together to streamline the demand endtoend delivery and operational services in order to mobilize change and achieve value.

An exciting opportunity is available to showcase your talents as a Project Manager within UHN Digital Radiation Medicine Program (RMP) & Corporate Priorities portfolio.  This position will lead concurrent and complex projects supporting the Radiation Medicine Program related to implementation of new or upgrades to existing clinical applications and supporting infrastructure including radiation oncology information systems (ROIS) and Treatment Planning Systems (TPS).  In addition this position will be responsible for developing and maintaining the RMP Roadmap which involves tracking the status of all RMPrelated projects. The Project Manager will work closely with a broad range of stakeholders (technical teams vendors Digital leadership RMP leadership) to plan execute and develop operational support processes related to a variety of internal vendorled clinical application and infrastructure projects.  This position will require accountability to lead multiple projects independently by applying project management best practices building relationships and delivering sustained value.  

Duties

  • Create and maintain detailed project charters plans and schedules in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders to establish project scope schedule budget accountabilities risk monitoring and controls and post project audit/evaluation as part of a program roadmap
  • Apply rigorous project management change management and effective communication across the project lifecycle to manage schedule and milestones using appropriate tools anticipating and troubleshooting issues to minimize the hospitals exposure to risk
  • Lead and coach project team including assigning tasks and ensuring appropriate follow up in a timely manner that meets quality standards. 
  • Manage and maintain project budget and other project documentation following project management best practices
  • Collaborate with Digital and business areas to prioritize upcoming projects develop project budgets and ensure available resources
  • Develop and maintain resource forecasts for assigned projects and annual business planning of prioritized projects for next fiscal year
  • Deliver progress reports requirements documentation and presentations to project stakeholders sponsors and executivelevel leaders
  • Manage procurement of goods and services vendor contracts relationships and delivery
  • Apply breakthrough design ideation integrating emerging technologies and incorporating subject matter expertise and datadriven evidence to create holistic solutions that meet business requirements and establish best practices and standards
  • Collaborate and facilitate requirements gathering testing and solution implementation within a multidisciplinary team environment including executives managers clinicians business teams technical stakeholders and vendors
  • Drive business insight and demonstrate benefits of implemented initiatives to the organization by applying sound data analysis data quality data reporting and visualization
  • Effectively implement and sustain organizational change by applying rigorous change management and communication practices
  • Facilitate development of operational model and plans for transitioning to a sustainable state
  • Develop and lead appropriate governance structures for assigned projects across departments and disciplines 
  • Develop and maintain RMP Project Roadmap which provides a highlevel status update (e.g. schedule resources dependencies Digital/Business leads) of each project in the program through outreach and relationship building with Digital and RMP teams to collect information
  • Organize prepare and lead regular meetings with Digital and RMP leadership to provide status updates present RMP Project Roadmap highlight risks/issues screen potential projects provide budgetary forecast update and seek decisions on key priorities  

Qualifications :

  • Minimum 5 years project management experience or equivalent required preferably in the health care IT sector
  • Undergraduate Degree required in Health Informatics or Administration Technology Science Business or related field required. Masters degree an asset
  • Experience leading endtoend application system interfacing/interoperability and IT infrastructure projects required
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical nontechnical teams and senior leadership 
  • Relationship builder across multidisciplinary teams and ability to lead teams towards clearly identified and widely disseminated objectives
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with keen attention to detail ability to identify risks/issues and initiative to troubleshoot & address challenges in a timely manner
  • Effective prioritization time management and organization skills
  • Demonstrated project accountability and ability to produce high quality deliverables
  • Flexibility to work effectively in a dynamic and fastpaced environment
  • Experience in formal procurement processes contract negotiations and vendor management preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent required
  • Familiarity with healthcare information systems interfaces HL7 ITIL and/or enterprise architecture an asset
  • Experience with cyber security and privacy regulations an asset
  • Experience or knowledge using Epic an asset
  • Experience with referral workflows/systems and provincial projects an asset
  • Other certification (Lean/SixSigma Black Belt ITIL IIBA Change Management) an asset
  • Supervisory or managerial experience preferred
