    Villa Academy seeks a parttime Middle School Spanish Teacher to join its team beginning August 19 2025. This educator will be teaching our Spanish curriculum to students in grades Fifth through Eighth. This role will engage students in using language not only for selfexpression and communication but also for providing insight into the social patterns value systems traditions and attitudes of Spanishspeaking people throughout the world. This is a tenmonth salariedexempt 0.5 FTE position that follows the academic calendar reporting to the Director of Middle School.

    The ideal candidate is a passionate and experienced Spanish educator who thrives in a Middle School environment and understands the developmental needs of young learners. They are skilled in language instruction inquirybased learning and integrating technology and handson activities to enhance engagement. A collaborative team player they build strong relationships with students families and colleagues while fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom community.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Teach multiple sections of Middle School Spanish to students in grades Fifth through Eighth.
    • Plan and implement inquirybased lesson plans that align with Villa Academy Spanish curriculum standards.
    • Cultivate a classroom community amongst a small gradespecific advisory group utilizing Villas socialemotional learning curriculum.
    • Work closely with the rest of the Spanish team to support students development and ensure they are wellprepared for success in Spanish 2 in high school (ACTFL IntermediateLow.)
    • Effectively partner and communicate with families colleagues and administration to appropriately challenge and support students.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve instructional strategies.
    • Integrate technology and handson activities to enhance learning experiences.
    • Regularly assess evaluate and provide feedback on student performance.
    • Participate in faculty/staff grade level and division meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
    • Commit to the mission vision and values of Villa Academy.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • A Bachelors degree in Education Spanish or a related field; Masters degree and/or teaching credential preferred.
    • 2 years of Spanish teaching experience preferably with Middle School students.
    • Knowledge of proficiencybased language acquisition models.
    • Indepth understanding of and experience with inquirybased learning in education settings.
    • Passion for working with Middle School students with a deep understanding of their developmental needs and learning styles.
    • Proven ability to implement effective classroom support strategies and foster positive relationships with young learners.
    • Experience with and appreciation for purposeful play as well as a solid foundation in interdisciplinary STEAMfocused and projectbased learning.
    • Desire to utilize outdoor spaces to introduce children to nature and facilitate connections between them and their environment.
    • Proficiency with instructional technology including document cameras interactive whiteboards webbased learning software and Google apps.
    • Excellent communication skills for working with students parents faculty/staff and campus partners.
    • A commitment to ongoing professional growth curiosity cultural humility and antiracism as well as an understanding of its critical role in academic excellence and student growth.

    SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
    Anticipated salary ranges between
    $26780.90 $61583.61/year dependent upon education and experience. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data applicants skills and prior relevant experience degrees and certifications.
