You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are seeking a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) to join our Clinical Engineering department. In this critical role youll be responsible for maintaining repairing and optimizing a wide range of medical and laboratory equipment. From preventive maintenance to emergency service youll ensure the safe and reliable performance of lifesaving medical devices across our healthcare system. $27 $33 / Hour
Perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on a broad range of clinical and nonclinical equipment.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues on complex electromedical systems.
Install new equipment and complete related documentation accurately and on time.
Conduct performance and electrical safety tests using standardized and custom procedures.
Support clinical staff by providing inservice training and operational guidance on equipment use.
Assist with equipment evaluations and incident investigations documenting findings and preventive recommendations.
Maintain detailed work orders service records and technical documentation.
Order parts materials and supplies needed for maintenance and repairs.
Participate in education training and professional development activities.
Provide technical support to peers and vendors and collaborate on special projects.
Be available for oncall shifts as per department schedule.
Travel to affiliated hospitals and clinics as needed (mileage reimbursed).
Education:
BS in Engineering with 2 years of related experience; OR
AAS in Biomedical Electronics or Computer Technology with 4 years of experience.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience considered.
Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of medical device technologies pneumatics hydraulics mechanics and basic physiology.
Familiarity with test equipment and performance verification protocols.
ICC Certification preferred.
Soft Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication.
Customerfocused attitude with attention to patient safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
