ABOUT THE POSITION
A Court Operations Managerplans organizes manages oversees and assists nonjudicial operations and administrative functions of one or more litigation administrative or operations division or unit. They participate in developing and implementing goals objectives policies and standards and reviewing work of subordinate staff to ensure completeness and compliance with applicable state and local rules and regulations applicable to the area of responsibility to which they are assigned. This is an atwill managerial position. The Trial Court Employment Protection and Governance Act (SB 2140) authorizes the Court to exclude managerial employees from the employment protection provisions of the Act subject to meet and confer.
SELECTION REQUIREMENTS To qualify youmustmeet one of the following options at the time of application:
OPTION I:Any combination of experience totaling at least four (4) years of experience working at the level of Court Services Supervisor or Judicial Assistant for the Superior Court of California County of Los Angeles or a Court outside of Los Angeles County.
OPTION II:Any combination of experience totaling at least (2) years of experience working at the level of Case Management System Training and Support Specialist or Senior Judicial Assistant for the Superior Court of California County of Los Angeles or a Court outside of Los Angeles County.
Note:Credit for experience is given based on a 40hour workweek. Parttime experience is credited on a parttime ratio i.e. working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements A valid California Class C drivers license or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out jobrelated essential functions.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will possess the following desirable qualifications:
Knowledge of laws regulations legislation operations rules policies and procedures of Los Angeles Superior Court
Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills
Demonstrated supervisory experience
EXAMINATION INFORMATION Part I: Qualifying evaluation of training and experience based upon submitted application materials and supplemental questionnaire.
Part II: Online assessment covering competencies including but not limited to management judgement management potential and deductive reasoning.
Part III:Evaluation of writing sample provided in application Supplemental Question #5.
Part IV: Oral interviews covering jobrelated experience knowledge skills and abilities.
