Role:Residential Support Worker

Salary:up to 26099 per annum ( equivalent of up to 13.53 per hour)

Location:Peterborough

Contract/Hours: Casual Varied Hours pick and choose when you work around your study family retirement or home life!

Our Residential Support Workerscreate a safe and supportive environment our young person to grow and develop. You will ensure their wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care guidance and advocacy. It is key that they stay safe and healthyand can reach their full potential.

We are seeking both qualified Residential Support Workers to join our growing team. Please check the job description carefully to understand the expectations of your level of entry. Salary will be aligned with your qualifications and experience career progression is encouraged and supported.

About the service

As a Residential Support Worker in our Peterborough service youll be supporting the transition our of young person into their own forever home!

Theyve been living in their current setting in Hampshire for some time and therefore our mission is to bring them home where theyll be close to family and receive the stability consistency and appropriate care they need.

Our approach is therapeutic driven by love and a commitment to helping the young person thrive. We aim to integrate them into the community as much as possible by supporting and encouraging independence as they transition into adulthood. Working closely with partner agencies including health education and social care partners as well as the young persons family well provide highquality support using a traumainformed approach. These relationships will enable our young person to do all of the things they enjoy.

To help you get to know a little more about our young person they would like to introduce themselves.

I am 17 years old of Nigerian heritage and I want to move to my forever home.

I have moderate Learning Disability Processing Disorder ASD and ADHD.I require daily support helping me to have a healthy diet lifestyle and broadening my communication personal and care needs are bathing feeding me communicating & developing my skills.

I love being active a lot of the time running jumping dancing climbing and I really enjoy water play massage and exploring my environment.

I need help in developing my opportunities in the community and to enjoy activities and things that make me happy. I turn 18 in 2025 so will need so will need support in developing skills to assist me in adulthood.

If you like these things too you may want to look at working with me This person needs to know how to support me and my care needs making sure that I see my family do activities laugh play & have fun.

Howyoullhelp to create brighter futures

  • Fostering independence by teaching essential life skills
  • Implementing positive behaviour support strategies proactively deescalating situations and providing a safe and supportive environment.
  • Promote social interactions helping build positive relationships inside and outside the residential setting.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records
  • Coordinating responsibilities within the service with multi agency and producing family information including analysis and written reports
  • Attendance at professional meetings including reviews court work etc.

Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge We are looking for someone with a can do attitude to join our team. Ideally you will have:

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust
  • Application of a range of techniques to coordinate and communicate with services user and their families
  • Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems individually and in a team setting
  • Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role
  • Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us full support will be provided.
