Job Description
ETL developers are responsible for designing and creating the data warehouse and all related extraction transformation and load of data functions in the company
After development work completes developers also must test their designs to ensure the system runs smoothly
Developers must be experts at taking a bigpicture view of a companys data situation
Design develop and maintain database objects such as the tables views and stored procedures needed to support reporting and/or analytics solutions
Analyze data to understand gaps inconsistencies and other quality issues and devise data quality improvement solutions
Analyze and remedy database and query performance issues
Developers need to be able to read analyze and digest what a business wants to accomplish with its data and design the best possible ETL process around those goals
Work with business users and gathering data and reporting requirements.
Work with business users and QA team with useracceptance testing and issue resolution.
