DescriptionRole purpose :
Primary responsibility to manage and coordinate the Regional Regulatory Services team. Working with the Regional Compliance Officer and Deputy Regional Compliance Officer support the positive development of Chubbs regulatory relationships in the UK and France and providing support on regulatory interactions across Chubb EMEA. Direct management and supervision of three team members as well as direction of regulatory interaction work undertaken by local Compliance staff within the region.
Key responsibilities :
- Manage and supervise the Regional Regulatory Services team to ensure that work is completed on a timely basis and is of a high standard. Encourage and develop the engagement of staff within the team and work to develop their professional skills and competencies. Ensure team procedures are developed and maintained including for individual returns.
- Working with the Regional Compliance Officer and Deputy Regional Compliance Officer support the positive development of Chubb EMEAs regulatorry relationships and ensure that their expectations are met. Work with their line managers Head of Compliance UK and Senior Compliance Manager CE as necessary.
- Manage the overall framework for coordinating regulatory interactions across the region through the maintenance of protocols for regulatory engagement and reporting. Ensure records of regulatory interactions are retained.
- Construct and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders within the Chubb EMEA business that have routine regulatory interactions and with contacts at our key regulators.
- Act as point of escalation for regulatory interactions. Be directly involved in or have oversight of material regulatory interactions such as onsite regulatory reviews.
- Proactively oversee analyse and provide regular information regarding regulatory interactions.
- Draft and maintain a team plan. Ensure that this is operationalised for example through team and individual objectives.
- Ensure that regulatory meetings and other communications are monitored and that actions from these are captured and tracked escalating any issues.
- Oversee Compliances work on individual accountability regimes in the UK and France ensuring that applications are made and that associated documentation such as Management Responsibility Maps and Statements of Responsibility are maintained.
- Working with L&C Operations (who are responsible for maintaining overseas reinsurance licences) ensure that Chubb EMEA has the necessary licences and has made and maintains the relevant passporting applications / notifications in order that it can trade in the UK across the EEA and overseas as relevant.

QualificationsQualifications :
University Degree (desirable)
Languages :
Working knowledge of a European language an advantage in particular French but not a strict requirement.
Experience :
The candidate should have a strong knowledge of the insurance industry. They must also have a good understanding of the European regulatory environment and of managing regulators. Some knowledge and experience of other regulatory environments in Europe in particular France would be helpful.
The candidate should have the ability to manage a small team of compliance professionals. They should be adept at managing competing priorities with excellent time management and organisation skills. The candidate should also have strong interpersonnel skills and be skilled at communicating compliance and regulatory issues to key stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
