Youll be based in Durban joining a collaborative commercial team focused on driving growth through precision quoting and competitive pricing.
Role Overview
Youll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive pricing estimates across all modes of transport (air sea road) supporting internal teams and responding to client RFQs and RFIs. From rate negotiations to margin analysis your input will directly impact project wins and client retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle RFQs from prospective and existing clients across multiple transport modes.
- Source and negotiate rates with preferred subcontractors.
- Prepare and submit competitive estimates using company quotation tools or clientsupplied templates.
- Compare buying and selling rates to determine margin performance.
- Liaise with sales and operations teams to ensure all handovers are accurate and complete.
- Maintain rate validity currency alignment Incoterms and countryspecific import/export procedures.
- Log and update quotation outcomes weekly (won/lost/inprogress/followup).
- Participate in commercial meetings or client discussions as needed.
- Track the success of submitted estimates and tenders and maintain uptodate records.
Requirements
- Matric essential; further logistics or commercial qualifications are advantageous.
- Minimum 3 years experience in freight forwarding estimates.
- At least 35 years of operational exposure in air road and sea freight.
- Strong understanding of Incoterms subcontractor procurement and shipping compliance.
- Excellent administrative communication and analytical skills.
