About the Role

Oakfield School are looking for an Inclusion Lead for the Secondary Provision as they enter an exciting phase of development. We require a passionate advocate for children and young people who find themselves at risk of exclusion from school and those who have been excluded. an indepth knowledge on SEND and schools statutory duties around this is essential. You will have worked in an education setting with children and young people for whom mainstream education is not suitable. You will be experienced in multiagency working able to challenge others and hold them to account in the interest of what is best for children. You will have extensive experience of training staff both in and out of schools to support them in meeting the needs of children and young people. Your knowledge of local and national support and resources for educators will be extensive and you will have experience of teaching children and young people with complex needs.

A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

About You

To apply for this post you must:

  • be based across the Oakfield secondary provisions to support and assess the delivery of highquality provision enabling students in the school especially those with special educational needs to make good progress
  • support assessment and diagnosis of complex students ensure needs are met within appropriate provisions
  • support students in mainstream schools particularly KS3 transition
  • set up with the executive lead for Oakfield a communication system that supports the reintegration of children with special educational needs and disabilities
  • work with headteachers and senior leaders in secondary settings to build capacity to reintegrate children with special educational needs.
  • model high quality teaching and learning strategies for existing staffing teams alongside LA officers and agencies
  • ensure the Transforming SEND and Inclusion Programme principles are embedded across stakeholders accessing Oakfield secondary provision

You must also have an understanding of and commitment toequality diversity and inclusion.

In addition we also expect you to shareour commitment to our valuesand will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the selection process.
