Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery improvement research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne from ambulatory to inpatient and home and communitybased services.
About us
The Patient Service Centre (PSC) forms part of Alfred Healths Surgical Services Program which provides most of the surgical care delivered across our campuses. Surgical Services comprises 17 surgical units Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine operating suites two planned surgical inpatient wards a medical day unit day surgery admissions and endoscopy services.
The PSC oversees the Planned Surgery Preparation List Medical Planned Waiting List and PreAdmission Clinic across both The Alfred and Sandringham Hospital.
The Surgical Specialist Clinics deliver nonadmitted services supporting clinical care across all surgical units. Services are delivered by medical nursing and allied health professionals at The Alfred Sandringham and Caulfield campuses including via telehealth.
About the Role
The Workforce and Development Lead is a key member of the Surgical Services leadership team. In this role you will work closely with the Nurse Managers of the PSC and Surgical Specialist Clinics to promote excellence in clinical practice lead workforce development initiatives and support multidisciplinary coordination of care.
You will serve as a key resource across the PSC and Surgical Specialist Clinics supporting staff to achieve best practice and optimal patient outcomes.
