The Successful Candidate will have opportunities to be involved in a variety of projects relating to:
- North America wide concentrating in Ontario.
- Work with a wide variety of clients including large industrial/commercial facilities developers and municipalities/cities.
- Environmental Compliance Approvals (ECA) Construction noise and vibration highway expansion land development noise complaint investigations building acoustics and large environmental assessments
Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Preparation ofAcoustic Assessment Reports for ECA Applications and EASR Registrations
- Coordinate and implement field work to conduct noise emission source inventories and noise measurements
- Conduct noise modeling using Cadna A andTNM software
- Preparation of Acoustic Assessment Reports and Acoustic Audits
- Assist with the design of noise abatement such as silencers barriers and wall treatment
- Aid senior staff in technical research
- Work with GHDs corporate Air & Noise Group consisting of over 80 engineers and scientists across North America.
What you will bring to the team:
- Recent or upcoming graduate from a Bachelor or Masters Degree program of Applied Science or Engineering in Chemical Environmental Civil or Mechanical Engineering programs
- Previous coop experience or relevant work experience preferred however not a firm requirement
- Ability to prepare proposals in plain language addressing client requirements
- Attention to detail along with strong organizational skills
- Ability to complete work under tight deadlines when required
- Works well independently as well as a part of a team
- Willingness to travel/work onsite independently completing field work in support of GHDs Environmental Compliance business
- No aversion to heights along with the ability to work in high noise areas
- Written and verbal communication skills are critical to this position. Strong emphasis will be placed on your ability to communicate and engage in technical conversation.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills: Word Excel PowerPoint Project and Outlook
- Previous field experience is considered an asset
- Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) member or plan to become one
- Previous experience in computer aided design (CAD) modelling software such as SolidWorks CATIA and/or Autodesk Inventor is beneficial
- Previous experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software such as CFX Fluent StarCCM and/or OpenFOAM is beneficial
- Valid G drivers license and access to a vehicle
