General Summary:
This position is the communications hub of the Medical Center and is responsible for handling all calls in a timely and courteous manner responding to all inquiries in a timely fashion and providing information to callers that is accurate and uptodate. This position is responsible for operating the Doctors Answering Service in an efficient and courteous manner. The Switchboard Operator also answers the emergency line and monitors all system alarms on a 24x7x365 basis and takes action inline with the Safety Committees procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Utilizes a pleasant telephone etiquette as observed by manager peers and user community.
- Supports end users by consistently providing reliable timely and effective information to callers as observed by supervisor peers and user community.
- Handles call volume in a timely manner. based on call and supervisors observation.
- Fills out the Daily Check List
- Logs calls for Doctors Answering service.
- Documents ALL events and incidents that may be an issue at a later date such as Argumentative callers failure to reach a doctor in a reasonable length of time etc.
- Promptly answers emergency line and pages clearly overhead.
- Monitors alarm panels security cameras and weather.
