Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Technical Specialist to design develop and optimize complex reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in querying SQL databases integrating cloud technology platforms (e.g. Azure AWS or Google Cloud) and delivering actionable insights to stakeholders. You will play a key role in transforming raw data into visually compelling and highly functional reports that drive business success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that meet business requirements and enhance decisionmaking.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract transform and load (ETL) data from relational databases for reporting purposes.
- Integrate Power BI with cloudbased platforms (e.g. Azure Data Services AWS Redshift Google BigQuery) to ensure seamless data connectivity and scalability.
- Collaborate with data engineers business analysts and stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into effective visualizations.
- Implement data modeling DAX calculations and advanced analytics to enhance report functionality and performance.
- Ensure data accuracy security and compliance with organizational standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in Power BI reports and underlying data pipelines.
- Stay updated on Power BI updates cloud technology trends and best practices to continuously improve reporting capabilities.
- Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on Power BI and SQL best practices.
- Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Systems Data Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:
- 5 years of handson experience developing reports and dashboards in Microsoft Power BI.
- 3 years of experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
- 2 years of experience working with cloud technology platforms (e.g. Azure AWS Google Cloud) for data storage processing or analytics.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI including DAX Power Query and data modeling.
- Strong SQL skills for querying relational databases (e.g. SQL Server MySQL PostgreSQL).
- Experience with cloudbased data solutions (e.g. Azure Synapse AWS RDS Google BigQuery).
- Familiarity with ETL processes and tools (e.g. SSIS Azure Data Factory or similar).
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- (Preferred) Experience with other BI tools (e.g. Tableau Qlik) or programming languages (e.g. Python R) for analytics.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver highquality results in a fastpaced environment.
- Microsoft Power BI certification (e.g. DA100 PL300 or equivalent.
- Experience with Azurespecific tools (e.g. Azure Analysis Services Azure Databricks)
- Background in industries such as finance healthcare or technology with complex data environments.
