Job Description
The Quick Check position serves two primary functions: To greet customers as they enter the store and to provide a fast checkout option for those who only need instore items. The Quick Checker solely processes small orders allowing the rest of the Sales Staff to engage customers who need a large quote written or want to discuss the details of their project. This division of labor ensures that we can help provide a steady rate of service and knowledgeable advice.
First impressions are so important! Our Quick Check Cashiers are always ready to welcome customers with a smile. Being a greeter means being aware of customers entering the store and extending a welcome even when assisting a different customer through the checkout process. Depending on the staffing of the Quick Check Station walking around the front of the store to help answer questions and direct customers may be included in your Greeter Duties.
Qualifications :
The employee must possess the ability to perform the following Quick Check Cashier Duties:
- Maintain a knowledge of product codes for untagged items.
- Use a Point of Sale system to process instore items.
- Alert Sales Staff to customers in need of assistance.
- Payment processing including cash handling.
- Directing waiting customers with instore items to your workstation.
- Conduct yourself every shift in a manner consistent with Dunn Lumbers core values.
- Other duties assigned.
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able and willing to engage with customers and be proactive in welcoming them to our store. Additionally applicants should have competent typing skills be proficient in general computer operations and be able to manage a till.
Additional Information :
This is a FullTime job working 40 hours per week with overtime eligibility!
Store Hours are Monday Friday from 6:55am 6:05pm and Saturday from 7:55am 5:05pm.
The current available schedule(s) are:
(M T F 6:40am 6:05pm & S 7:40am 5:05pm)
This is an entrylevel position with a paid twoweek training period and continued learning while employed. The twoweek training is completed onsite with your supervisor or at a *Training Yard with the Training Department. The training for this position will focus on product knowledge Point of Sale software and yard operations.
*Training hours are Monday Friday 8:00am 4:00pm and is required.
This position is in a yard/retail environment. This position is very active and requires employees to be on their feet for most of the shift. The noise level is moderate to loud.
