The Medical Director is a clinical consultant who along with the Nurse Practitioner provides oversight and expertise to ensure the delivery of exemplary clinical services to the people who live here. Collaborating with the Nurse Practitioner and a team of professional licensed staff the Medical Director ensures that care aligns evidencebased practices regulatory requirements and Nova Scotia Healths mission to promote health and wellness.
Compensation: Stipend approximately $5000 per year
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Consultant: Provide guidance to the interdisciplinary care team fostering an environment of collaboration and professional excellence.
- Personcentered Care: Oversee the delivery of medical services including assessment diagnosis and management of elder health concerns.
- Quality Assurance: support quality improvement initiatives ensuring compliance with provincial LTC standards and best practices.
- Policy Development: Collaborate with the leadership team to implement and update medical policies and procedures for the facility.
- Education and guidance: Mentor staff in clinical best practices providing education on geriatric care chronic disease management and palliative care as needed.
- Act as the primary liaison: between Hillside Pines and external healthcare providers.
Qualifications :
- Licensed to practice medicine in Nova Scotia and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
- Experience in geriatrics family medicine or longterm care.
- Proven leadership abilities and a commitment to personcentered care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with elders families and staff.
- Familiarity with provincial LTC regulations and guidelines.
