Under the general direction the 1054 IS Business Analyst Principal will serves as the technical authority for one or more related specialties or provides technical leadership and direction and assumes technical responsibility for the completion of major projects; performs or oversees all or most of the systems development life cycle and ongoing administration functions including needs analysis costbenefit analysis structured systems analysis and design feasibility analysis technology and software assessment telecommunications needs analysis project planning and management system installation implementation and testing conversion to production status technical and procedural documentation user training and postimplementation assessment and administration; directs and participates in complex studies. This position may provide direct ongoing supervision to other technology staff such as but not limited to IS Business Analyst IS Engineers Cable Splicers etc.

Qualifications :
Education: An associate degree in business administration public administration information systems economics finance computer science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units i.e. at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in one of the fields above or a closelyrelated field.
Experience: Five (5) years of experience in the information systems field including system analysis business process design development and implementation of business application solutions or IT project management.
Substitution: Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a yearforyear basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units / fortyfive (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in one of the fields above or a closely related field.
Completion of the 1010 Information Systems Trainee Program may be substituted for the required degree.
Additional Requirement: In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications this position requires sufficient strength and coordination of lifting pushing pulling and/or carrying the 35 Lbs. weight of computer systems equipment. It also requires bending stooping and/or crawling in order to install or repair computer systems hardware (TST029).

Selection Procedures
After application submission candidates deemed qualified must complete all subsequent steps to advance in this selection process which includes the following:
Supplemental Questionnaire Evaluation (Weight: 100%)
Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be sent a Supplemental Questionnaire. The Supplemental Questionnaire is designed to measure the knowledge skills and abilities required for this position. All candidates responses to the Supplemental Questionnaire are subject to verification. All relevant experience education and/or training must be included in the responses in order to be reviewed in the rating process.
A passing score on the Supplemental Questionnaire must be achieved in order to be placed/ranked on the eligible list. Candidates will be placed on the eligible list in rank order according to their final score.
Note: Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed to advance through all of the steps in the selection process.
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Security Clearance:
Candidates for employment with the San Francisco Airport Commission are required to undergo a criminal history record check including FBI fingerprints and Security Threat Assessment in order to determine eligibility for security clearance and may be required to undergo drug/alcohol screening. Per Civil Service Commission Rule Section 110.9.1 every applicant for an examination must possess and maintain the qualifications required by law and by the examination announcement for the examination. Failure to obtain and maintain security clearance may be basis for termination from employment with the Airport Commission.

Eligible List/Score Report: A confidential eligible list of applicant names that have passed the civil service examination process will be created and used for certification purposes only. An examination score report will be established so applicants can view the ranks final scores and number of eligible candidates. Applicant information including names of applicants on the eligible list shall not be made public unless required by law. However an eligible list shall be made available for public inspection upon request once the eligible list is exhausted or expired and referrals resolved. The eligible list/score report resulting from this civil service examination process is subject to change after adoption (e.g. as a result of appeals) as directed by the Human Resources Director or the Civil Service Commission.
The duration of the eligible list resulting from this examination process will be six (6) months and may be extended with the approval of the Human Resources Director.
