Job Description
Oversee the production planning staffing and daytoday manufacturing operations in a costeffective manner accurately track and record KPIs.
Troubleshoot and resolve operational manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Prepare and maintain appropriate production record systems utilizing AX etc.
Ensure the efficient management of operations of a multiple shift production facility and ensure the proper functioning of equipment identifying and resolving potential problems
Deliver Results
- Manufacture in the most efficient productive and cost effective manner
- Review efficiency cost and production reports daily identify the top 3 losses / problem areas and make the necessary corrections adjustments or improvements
- Optimize machine performance efficiency and productivity optimization need to meet targets
- Support and participate in developing the business plan deliver results and be held accountable
- Customer Service Oriented commit to making what is on the schedule on time
Communication & Leadership
- Lead a plant of 80 employees including production maintenance and distribution departments.
- Positively influence changes speak as a TechoBloc ambassador. Be seen and heard as a Leader
- Constant Communication with other managers Maintenance Fleet Manager Yard/Logistics Manager HR and Customer Service ensuring the most productive and costeffective plan is obtained. Partnership environment
- Communicate implement and apply policies and procedures
- Communicate administrative needs or requirements to HR and others for support
- Recruit and hire production team Develop Autonomous work force give responsibility recognize positive results and hold accountable when not delivered
- Motivate personnel Positive influence Lead by example.
Planning
- Work with planning to optimize output (ex: faster changeover wet vs. dry paver to wall etc.)
- Plan with maintenance the best time to Repair Replace or do Preventive Maintenance
- Plan and share resources to optimize productivity and reduce costs
- With the support of HR develop training program and ensure succession plan (backup). Define roles and responsibilities for direct reports and establish short term and longterm objectives. Develop and promote key players
Verification
- Constant verification of all equipment to ensure proper functioning and detect potential problems before they occur
- Use data from reports to identify area of improvements reduce waste reduce breakdowns and improve efficiencies
- Track and communicate efficiency from start to finish (sand to finished saleable product)
- Verify costs and expenses prior to making decisions (budget)
- Constant verifications of products to ensure superior quality and reduce scrap & waste
- Verify check lists visual check list and ensuring that all equipment is inspected daily
Safety
- Inspire desired workplace safety behaviors defined in our 8 Step Safety Program. Leading and sustaining a safe place to work environment. Lead and Ensure compliance with all OSHA programs. Co Lead Safety Committee program.
Important to the role
- Spends 60 % of time on the shop floor not in the office;
- This role is designed as a Monday to Friday fulltime position; however the right candidate has the willingness to work flexible manufacturing schedules including nights weekends etc. when needs demand;
Qualifications :
Technical skills and acumen
- 7 years of work experience in a production or manufacturing environment position.
- Universitylevel education
- B.S. in engineering business management or related discipline preferred
- Excellent proven people leadership and change management skills
- Ability to quickly establish credibility to develop and maintain excellent business relations both internally and externally. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Mechanically inclined with basic knowledge of electronics and programmable controllers with excellent trouble shooting skills
- Strong abilities in planning organizing project management and problem solving
- Able to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends when necessary
- Experience with Microsoft AX Microsoft Office tools ERP systems and a strong Excel acumen;
- Strong success track record of ability to plan organize implement and inspire adoption of programs processes etc.;
