Job Description

The Senior Dredging Consultant will be an important contributor to HR Wallingford projects providing technical expertise and project management for a range of clients internationally and in the UK. The role sits within the Ships and Dredging Group at HR Wallingford within which there is a team dedicated to all aspects of Dredging Consultancy. This team of dredging specialists provides expertise to a range of other technical groups within HR Wallingford and to clients who commission HR Wallingford .
You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of highquality consultancy advice relating to dredging as well as periodically overseeing dredging contractors and providing technical support to clients and other teams in HR Wallingford. In addition you will contribute to R&D activities and marketing materials and attend conferences / trade events both in the UK and internationally to share your knowledge and expertise.
You will work both independently and as part of a team undertaking occasional fieldwork and attending onsite client meetings as required. Along with other members of the team you will write and review reports and communicate effectively (across all media and in person) with clients and colleagues.
Key qualifications and skills
- You will have a degree in a relevant field (e.g civil engineering)
- 5 years of commercial dredging industry experience including substantial experience on site ideally with a dredging contractor
- Good technical knowledge of a wide range of dredging plant and its capability (including ancillary equipment)
- Knowledge of dredging project health and safety
- Good project management skills and experience
- Experience of data analysis and reporting
- Experience of vesselbased fieldwork
- Worked in a range of environments both in the UK and abroad

- Salary: 45000 to 55000 per annum dependant on experience.
