- To effectively motivate a team of people to meet production targets.
- Ensure the final product meets client specifications (SPI).
- To effectively maximise production efficiency to ensure plan is met on an hourly/daily basis.
- Effectively use the integrated management systems.
- To adhere to and promote best practices in accordance with company health safety and quality regulations.
- To ensure all paperwork and systems are completed and accurate in accordance with company procedures.
- To ensure that all areas comply with hygienic audits both internal and external.
- To ensure GMP (good manufacturing practices) and housekeeping (clean as you go) are strictly adhered to.
- Assist in the development of a skills matrix for all production workers.
- To attend Line leader meetings and relevant training courses as and when required.
- To assist in the identification and development of Line Leaders to promote successful planning.
- To assist in the training and development of new starters.
- To act as a role model for best practice.
- Monitor control and minimise waste.
- Play an active part in continuous improvement.
- To conduct RTWs for line workers.
- To participate in the companys PDP program.
- To conduct disciplinary investigations in accordance with company procedure.
- To act as a specialist for machinery knowledge.
- Drive own personal development through training and workbased experience.
- Manage the output of assigned production and effectively deal with issues as and when they arise.
- Cover for the Area Manager in his/her absence.
- Liaise with customers and clients as and when required.
- Must be prepared to cover a variety of shifts to represent the management team.
- To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time that reasonably fall within the scope and grade of the post.
Qualifications :
- Experience of working in a customerled environment with changing priorities.
- Experience of manufacturing machinery and processes.
- H&S L2 Qualification.
- NVQ L2 in Team Leading of Packing Operations.
- Ability to communicate in a positive and clear manner.
- Ability to plan organise and prioritise work to strict deadlines.
- Recognises and promotes the importance of continuous improvement.
- Able to work towards targets.
