Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for an Allied Health Assistant to join the Physiotherapy team in the acute hospital at Epworth Richmond! This is a 20 hour per week parttime position (Monday to Friday) that will involve assisting the acute physiotherapy service with the treatment of patients on the orthopaedic neuroscience cardiorespiratory medical and oncology wards.

The AHA role will support the treating physiotherapy team by undertaking a broad range of tasks to ensure patient wellbeing and safety attainment of therapy goals and prevention of functional decline.

You will make an impact by:

  •  Providing a high standard of patient care
  •  Ensuring safe practice at all times
  • Aligning with department prioritisation and clinical care guidelines
  • Participation in clinical handovers based on the ISOBAR framework
  • Documentation and reporting inline with organisational standards

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous experience as an Allied Health Assistant and/or completed a Certificate IV AHA and/or other relevant university qualification
  • Weekly availabilityMondayFriday
  • Strong customer service and general people skills
  • Excellent administration time management and organisation skills
  • The ability to take initiative and have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of your work
  • Previous experience working in a Hospital setting is desirable
