How do we make an impact

Unity Lab Services provides a single source for integrated lab service support and supply management. Our customized service offerings and premier service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customers laboratorys business needs.

What will you do

  • Use inventory/order management electronic systems to perform the following activities: onsite program replenishments and disbursements receiving putaway stock rotation cycle counts order entry and expediting customer service call resolution product returns and backorder processing
  • Perform laboratory services such as order delivery glassware processing biological waste processing chemical inventory receipt/reconciliation and media preparation
  • Proactively connect with the supervisor any customer concerns and/or potential problems and address customer concerns within established resolution timeframes.
  • Engage in process improvement activities
  • Be involved with safety programs such as hazard identification inspections and incident reporting/investigation as required.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

1 year of related experience within a laboratory setting or customer service is preferred.

Knowledge Skills Abilities

  • Able to read write and speak English fluently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and desire to deliver excellent customer service. This includes maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientifics values.
  • Possesses a strong desire to serve the customer and the interpersonal skills to collaborate with various levels of personnel at the customer site.
  • Must possess operating skills to use handheld scanners to enter data in various systems as needed; as well as analytical skills to reconcile reports.
  • Demonstrates the ability to understand the complexity of various work environments and work safely following all policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software.
  • Uses organizational skills to multitask and meet due dates as needed.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Works primarily at customer sites which may require independent work. Work areas may include spaces where chemicalbased allergens are in use (such as penicillin tetracycline etc.)
  • Depending on the area of the building personal protective equipment may need to be worn including lab coats coveralls hoods facemasks hairnets safety gloves steeltoe shoes (required for all colleagues) bump hats and/or safety glasses.
  • Regularly required to lift 30 40lbs and up to 50lbs occasionally.
  • Regularly use equipment including pushcarts pallet jacks mobile cylinders forklifts etc. to push/pull up to 100lbs
  • Regularly required to stand walk and conduct manual material handling (twisting bending reaching lifting etc.) for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to work in environments with varied temperatures (cold rooms outside etc.)
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
