QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification
- Masters Degree Preferred
- Valid Texas MidManagement Administrator or Principals Certificate Preferred

- Leadership ability in working with teachers and students in instructional and managerial

- Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to evaluate instructional program and teaching effectiveness
- Ability to manage budget and personnel and coordinate campus functions

- Strong communications public relations and interpersonal skills
Experience
- Three years of related administrative experience in education to include at least two years assistant principal experience (for a person who has not previously served as a principal) preferred
- Three years experience as a classroom teacher
REPORTS TO: Superintendent and/or Designee
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 227/240 days with benefits provided according to the Negotiated Employment Agreement.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain the organization and management of the school program.
- Provide leadership for the instructional growth of teachers by supervising instruction through classroom observation and teacher conferences.
- Prepare a master schedule that is in compliance with accreditation standards and other applicable guidelines.
- Act as the chairperson of the ARD committee or designate an administratively qualified representative who is professionally qualified to facilitate the committee work.
- Supervise the administration of statemandated or districtwide testing programs and evaluate the results to determine weaknesses and strengths in the school instructional programs and curriculum.
- Establish and maintain communication with personnel and students to foster a productive school climate.
- Inform the appropriate division superintendent for schools promptly of all cases of extreme danger or disaster where it would be necessary to set aside any Board policy.
- Assist in establishing and clarifying the shortrange and longrange goals that are educationally sound and administratively feasible.
- Utilize District and community resources in developing the most effective educational program.
- Make recommendations on staff assignments according to campus needs.
- Interview select and orient new staff and approve assignment of campus personnel.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the school staff.
- Identify those aspects of the teachers instructional program in need of improvement and suggest alternative avenues of improvement.
- Maintain adequate and accurate documentation upon which recommendations for job termination are based.
- Evaluate teachers assistant principals counselors nurses atrisk coordinators and noncertified staff.
- Make recommendations relative to personnel placement transfer retention promotion nonrenewal and dismissal.
- Involve campus staff in the planning of staff development activities.
- Assume responsibility for implementing TEAs requirements and the Boards policies and directives.
- Manage facility functions effectively.
- Work closely with Accounting Department in preparing and submitting the school budget and monitoring allocations and expenditures of funds according to administrative policies.
- Submit annual inventories of supplies and equipment and requisitions for any supplies and equipment needed for the next school year.
- Establish and maintain an accurate accounting system for all textbooks issued to the staff and students.
- Inform the superintendent regarding conditions and needs of the instructional program personnel matters student accomplishments and concerns through the established organizational channels.
- Maintain accurate records and make such reports as required by TEA or as requested by the superintendent or Board.
- Assume responsibility for the proper maintenance of the campus financial accounts in accordance with administrative policies. These accounts include but are not limited to receipts disbursements donations and fundraising activities.
- Function as the attendance officer of the school.
- Develop promote and/or communicate a student management system that results in positive student behavior.
- Provide for the close supervision of extracurricular activities.
- Promote professional growth that meets the needs of professional and auxiliary personnel.
- Improve leadership skills through professional development activities.
- Support established District goals.
- Communicate the educational efforts and successes to the community.
- Oversee committees of special education gifted and talented discipline LPAC CIT and communications.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff assigned to campus.

Maintain emotional control under stress; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; occasional districtwide and statewide travel. Coordinate adultrelated programs.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Attend all meetings as directed by supervisor.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor and district office administration.
