JOB SUMMARY
ONEOK is seeking a Control Room Operator. The Control Room Operator is responsible for assisting and directing the safe and efficient movement of crude oil with strict adherence to all applicable rules and regulations as well as company standards throughout the pipeline system.
Job Profile Summary
Monitors adjusts and/or controls flow of crude oil in a safe reliable compliant and efficient manner. This includes distribution transmission gathering storage and processing systems.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Directs controls and monitors the delivery and change of product at remote locations utilizing computercontrolled field equipment
- Initiates pump and delivery schedule changes monitors tank inventories meter counts line pressures and temperatures
- Responsible for identifying operational problems and dispatching field personnel to problem areas in the pipeline system
- Utilizes continuous discretion to initiate changes of pump and delivery schedules to maintain overall delivery schedule product quality safe operating conditions and a costefficient operation
- Responsible for monitoring pipeline leak detection system and initiating the appropriate response
Education
- Associate degree preferably in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
Work Experience
- Experience with pipeline control functions computer programs and equipment applicable to pipeline system control operations
- Experience monitoring pressures volumes and control points to maintain adequate gas or natural gas liquid flow
- Experience with and thorough knowledge of natural gas or natural gas liquid pipeline operations
- Experience in use and function of office equipment applicable to position including computers
- Experience and/or training related to:
- Basic programming/computer applications and hardware/SCADA systems.
- Company and governmental operating/safety procedures.
- Weather forecasting
- Experience compiling and preparing reports logs and correspondence
- Experience interacting advising training and communicating effectively
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Experience with Intouch System Platform and OMI
- Proven analytical and judgment skills; extremely detailoriented; high level of communication and interpersonal skills; good computer skills; high mathematical accuracy
- Must be an independent thinker with the ability to make sound logical decisions
- Prior Pipeline or refining industry experience
- Computercontrolled production and/or computer process control experience
