Job Description

As a Thematic Advisor in Summa you will contribute to driving the transition toward cleaner smarter and more resilient energy systems. Summa invests across sectors to shape a lowcarbon future and in private equity assets that aim at providing new and innovative solutions for a more futureproof world.

The team is located globally with offices in Stockholm Oslo Munich London and the are part of Summas DNA exemplified by being a certified B Corporation and collaborating with Harvard Business School and the International Foundation for Valuing Impacts (IFVI).

The role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Thematic Advisor to guide the expansion of our energy transition initiatives in current and future investments. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in nextgeneration energy systems including renewables energy storage smart grids clean fuels and energy efficiency and a strong track record in strategic business development and leadership.


The role is a parttime and temporary position with Summa based in Stockholm Sweden.


Areas of responsibilities include:

  • Advise on strategic direction of investments in energy transition clean fuels and climateresilient infrastructure.
  • Offer thought leadership on trends in regulatory market and technical developments.
  • Guide portfolio development across renewables transmission & distribution hydrogen and decarbonization pathways.
  • Collaborate with the investment and operational teams to identify and assess investment opportunities.
  • Identify new market opportunities and partnerships to expand Summas scope and portfolio.
  • Represent Summa in industry forums.

Who are we looking for

We are looking for a candidate that has:

  • 15 years of experience in the energy sector with progressive leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong background in commercial strategy business development and management.
  • Technical understanding of energy systems including renewables storage smart energy and clean fuels.
  • Professional experience in private equity consultancy and engineering environments is preferred.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • International experience and familiarity with the Nordic energy markets.
  • Engineering degree (BSc and MSc); additional business education is a bonus.
