Purpose
EHS Specialist will be under the leadership of EHS Manager giving him/her support on his/her daily job and specifically on one or more EHS specialisations. Promote the EHS culture across the organisation.
Core Responsibilities
- Support Management and staff for internal/external regulatory compliance
- Stay abreast with EHS regulations and actively applies knowledge to projects and daily tasks
- With authorities related to Environment Health and Safety; report to EHS Manager any authority concerns
- Lead incident injury and complaint investigations and propose corrective actions to be implemented
- Evaluate regulatory permitting requirements and submit permit applications to applicable agencies
- Develop compliance training and documentation and conduct EHS trainings when required
- Facilitate tool box meeting and deliver other EHS training as required
- Participate on the development of EHS procedures/Policies recommend changes when appropriate and tracking their implementation
- Organize and participate in regular site safety inspection with department/area owners; report findings and follow up their correction & prevention
- Follow up all actions in the local CAPA register with stakeholders to ensure timely completion
- Follow up all audits findings; and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of their corrective & preventive actions
- Organizing site EHS committee meetings prepare information and prepare meetings minutes
- Help on risk assessment and provide tangible solutions to minimize risks
- Help with annual site risk assessment and ensure actions in place to mitigate risks
- Coordinate implementation and development of but not limited to Contractor Safety Management System Work Permit Construction Safety Transportation/ Traffic Management.
- EHS Support on expansion & sustain projects e.g. inputs & review on design scheme and support on implementation of Hazardous Area Classification
- Support on management of emergency preparedness and responses especially in terms of project support
Your professional profile includes:
- Possess education qualification in EHS field.
- At least 2/3 years of experience and above in Chemical/ Manufacturing industry.
- Flexible to travel across sites in Smithfield and Norwest.
- Possess relevant EHS certifications
- Possess strong stakeholder management skills and influencing skills.
- Computer literacy e.g. but not limited to Microsoft Office Microsoft Power Point
- Any 810 of the technical competencies according to EHS specialisation domain
