Job Description

Position Title: Program Coordinator Honors/SCWTE

Department: University Honors Program

Advertised Pay: $20/hr

Campus Location:Washburn University

Position available 8/1/20256/1/2026. This position is a 10month partial replacement during a sabbatical for the Associate Director of the University Honors Program and Coordinator of the Scholarly/Creative WTE. The program coordinator will manage the cocurriculur programs of the University Honors Program the documentation of Scholarly/Creative Washburn Transformational Experiences (SCWTE) projects and the grant award process for SCWTE.

Essential Functions:
Build relationships among Honors students and redesign University Honors cocurricular program.
Work with the Honors Student Council and Honors Learning Community Resident Advisor to plan and execute events for University Honors Students including dinners field trips and social activities.
Evaluate proposals for student projects and grant proposals. Give feedback and advise students and faculty on requirements for project documentation.
Track and approve declarations of Scholarly/Creative Washburn Transformational Experience projects. Answer associated questions from students and faculty regarding declaration process.
Manage application and award process for SCWTE grants. Oversee work of Administrative Specialist regarding communication with students and faculty tracking of grant funds and reimbursement processes.
Plan and coordinate execution of Day of Transformation event in Fall 2025.
Coordinate Washburn Universitys participation in Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol.
Report on outcomes of SCWTE activities and Honors cocurricular events including information for promotional materials. Compile data on SCWTE activities
Other duties as assigned and appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree
Experience working with college students in a leadership coordination or instructor role.
Experience undertaking academic research projects.
Knowledge of the challenges faced by high achieving or gifted students and the related trends issues and accepted practices.
Knowledge of how to build active communities and enhance student engagement.
Demonstrated ability to organize and manage data.
Demonstrated ability to learn software platforms.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with students faculty and staff.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree
One year of experience in student affairs advising or as an instructor at the college level.
