The Franklin Public Schools a Prek12 district is seeking a skilled and experiencedEducation Coach to support students making the transition to college or career life. Thisperson will work closely with the Transition Coordinator to develop a communityconducive to student success by encouraging positive behaviors. There will beopportunities for small group and individual instruction as Duties and Responsibilities: Support students with intellectual/developmental disabilities age 1822 ininclusive postsecondary education settings Coach students in the typical role for a college student or employee includingappropriate classroom/work behavior study skills testtaking skills notetakingtime management and/or organizational skills Help students plan and practice personal safety techniques selfadvocacy andassertiveness skills and social skills allowing students to be as independent aspossible in the college and work environment Assist students in travel training when the option is available Work with high school liaison and/ or Transition Coordinator to develop strategiesto assist the student with learning and communication Strategize with the student on how to communicate with faculty/supervisorsregarding job expectations course work and/or assignments Communicate in a positive manner and relate to students college faculty/staffwork site staff high school staff and families Provide positive behavior supports and academic interventions for students Work with the Transition Coordinator to provide vocational social and emotionalsupport and intervention at internships/work sites Work collaboratively with a team of general education and special educationteachers and therapists Collect and share data with special education liaison on student performance
