JOB DESCRIPTION: To assist students struggling with conduct issues be successful in the educational process.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Appropriate State of Arizona Certification
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons units and projects with strategies and materials appropriate for the students.
- Assess student performance to determine whether or not they are making progress toward meeting state standards and refer students for specialized help when necessary.
- Evaluate conscientiously and fairly the accomplishments of students and provide progress reports as required by law district policy and administrative regulation.
- Utilize data from available sources including attendance discipline and assessment data to inform instruction and evaluate effectiveness of instructional program.
- Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives and standards in relation to students instructional level.
- Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Develop differentiated lessons appropriate for students; small group oneonone whole group etc.
- Provide nurturing supportive and positive classroom environment that encourages student responsibility
- Participate in student placement and transition conferences
- Process student incidents according to behavioral goals and established protocols
- Adapt and modify instruction based on students emotional behavioral academic and social status
- Assist administration in implementing district policies and guidelines that govern student behavior and safety
- Maintain an orderly and safe classroom environment; take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students.
- Collaborate with school and district personnel to ensure student success is maximized. Collaborate on resources goals objectives etc.
- Work with students on behavior goals.
- Provides direct intervention and/or support in instructional settings.
- Support and assist instructional staff.
- Collaborates with agencies families schools and others as needed for the purpose of implementing behavior intervention plans as a team.
- Communicate with administration about classroom concerns.4
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress.
- Serve as a liaison between classroom and home school site.
- Maintain accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulation including accurate permanent academic and attendance records of students.
- Supervise students in and out of the classroom in accordance with school procedures.
- Provide time for students and parents for educational purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so.
- Communicate with colleagues students and/or parents on a regular basis.
- Practice professionalism and confidentiality in all matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal Assistant Principal Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent.
