Summary of Duties
As an Eligibility Worker (Human Services Specialist 3) you will:
Play a critical role in providing a safety net that supports better outcomes for Oregonians.
Provide resources that support individual and family stability.
Determine eligibility for people applying for various programs and benefits through interviewing gathering and assessing information. Programs we administer include Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Long Term Care (LTC) services Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) Employment Related Day Care (ERDC) Domestic Violence services and various Medicaid (Health insurance) programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience determining eligibility for an agency program by interviewing to assess the needs of clients and interpreting and applying the policies rules and guidelines applicable to the clients situation.
An equivalent combination of education training and experience relative to the class concept.

Organizational skills: Experience prioritizing tasks and managing workloads to consistently meet deadlines in a fast paced dynamic environment.
Collaboration and teamwork: Experience building trustbased relationships and adapting to changing priorities collaboratively as a team.

Working Conditions
The work schedule is 8 a.m. 5 p.m. Monday Friday on site and inperson at the Redmond ODHS branch office.
Contact with the public including contact with Oregonians experiencing emotional and financial stress.
Serve a diverse range of customers with compassion and professionalism through a trauma informed lens.
May require sitting at a computer or telephone for prolonged periods of the workday.
Occasional local travel may be required for community appointments that take place in participant homes hospitals and other public settings based on the participants needs.

The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship. Within three days of hire you will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Securitys I9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States. ODHS will use EVerify to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States.
Requires a valid drivers license or other acceptable method of transportation.
