JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Nutrition Specialist
FLSA Status: Full Time NonExempt Regular
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week
Department: Nutrition (400)
Reports to: Manager of Nutrition Operations
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
The primary function of the position is to facilitate the operations of the Older Americans Act (OAA) Connections Cafs which serve as community hubs offering nutritious meals social engagement and support services to eligible older adults. This role also includes administrative support to assist with efficient daily food operations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None.
VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT RESONSIBILITIES
Regularly interacts engages and provides guidance to volunteers. Silver Key is a volunteercentric organization. Support volunteers and interns to coordinate and coach appropriate food safety standards.
DRIVING DUTIES
Will be required to drive on behalf of Silver Key Senior Services. Must maintain a current valid Colorado Drivers License. Must maintain the state issued minimum automotive liability insurance coverage. Must observe and obey all federal state and local traffic laws. Responsible for the proper function and maintenance of any Silver Key vehicles used in performing assigned duties.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Silver Key Senior Services is a drugfree organization. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen and background checks. Businessspecific knowledge: Knowledge of Silver Key Senior Services mission statement policies/procedures businessspecific software and safety regulations. This position requires a background check by Colorado Adult Protective Services (CAPS).
REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Two or more years experience in food service industry; knowledge of large quantity meal preparation and menu planning ability to lift 50 lbs.; ability to maintain confidentiality; good organization skills; ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
DESIRABLE PREFERRED OR SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
TECHNOLOGY PROFICIENCY
This position uses Microsoft Office label printers cleaning and sanitation tools online training programs messaging apps time clocks and kitchen or cash register systems.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to train small groups of volunteers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Addition subtraction multiplication and division for handling orders calculating totals and providing change to customers and able to keep track of stock levels to determine how much product is needed based on demand or order history.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to problem solve involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires standing walking and sitting for periods of time. Utilization of hands and fingers to operate office computer keyboard and equipment required. Must be able to reach with hands and arms talk hear and stoop kneel or crouch if needed. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
VISION REQUIREMENTS
Position requires close distance and peripheral vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The majority of the work takes place at the caf site with the remainder done in the kitchen or office.
